Repentance: what does it mean.Repentance

What does REPENTANCE really mean?

Repentance takes place when there is a realization that something has been allowed in the life that should not be allowed, and the person acknowledges that what God says about it is right and what they have allowed is not right.

So we take sides with God against what we have allowed in our lives.

In other words, repentance is taking sides with God against ourselves.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Luke 15:7  (KJV)
