The Bible Blog

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to only have the simple Word of God as a guide for every thought that we have about doctrine and Christian life?  Would it change how we look at concepts that we have believed to be true based on our experiences and traditions?  We presume to know what Paul, Peter, John, or any of the other apostles thought about a topic. Wouldn’t it be reassuring to have a solid reference for every belief, and be certain of it’s origin since we would know “of whom we have learned” them?  (2 Timothy 3:14)  This bible blog is an attempt to do just that. We want to find Scriptural support for each topic, and to see where this leads us over time.

We want to promote Christian unity in thought and action.  This will come from thoughts formed always and only by the Word of God.  We will find differences in understanding because of our associations, traditions of men, and preconceived notions.  Seeing that Scripture is a Word from God, He will help us to understand His will for us.  By finding out what the Word of God really says, we will find ourselves marked by the unity that the Lord desires for His people.  We hope the Bible blog gives us a chance to share what we discover with you.  We also hope that you share any related verse that you find with us, here on the Bible blog, so we can grow together in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 119:130

The entrance of thy words giveth light, giving understanding unto the simple.

Philippians 3:12

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Acts 4:29

And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and give to thy bondmen with all boldness to speak thy word,

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
